About TQQQ Breakout

Adds a confirmation layer on top of EMA trend following: requires dual-EMA alignment, a 20-day range breakout, and a high efficiency ratio before accepting a TQQQ or SQQQ signal. Falls back to BSV when directional conviction is low.

📈Bull market

Enters TQQQ only after breakout conditions confirm trend conviction. Misses the very start of a move but avoids false breakouts that would reverse quickly. Once in, holds TQQQ through the confirmed trend.

📉Bear market

Enters SQQQ on confirmed bearish breakdown. Same confirmation requirement on the downside reduces false shorts during market bottoms and sharp oversold reversals.

↔️Choppy market

The only strategy with an explicit choppy regime. When the efficiency ratio is low it holds BSV (a short-term bond ETF) rather than trading. Choppy markets are its natural habitat for capital preservation.

Key risk: Confirmation lag means entering trends later than other strategies, which reduces returns in short, sharp moves that reverse before conditions fully align. BSV holding periods generate minimal return compared to the opportunity cost of a trending market.
