About TQQQ Core
Uses the SPY 200-day moving average as a broad market regime gate, then applies TQQQ RSI overbought/oversold signals to rotate between TQQQ, a volatility hedge (UVXY), and defensive assets (SQQQ or BSV).
📈Bull market
Stays long TQQQ for the bulk of the bull run. Briefly rotates into UVXY when TQQQ RSI reaches extreme overbought levels, capturing some of the volatility spike before returning to TQQQ. Total exposure to leveraged upside is high.
📉Bear market
Once SPY drops below its 200-day MA the strategy shifts to SQQQ or BSV, limiting participation in the downside. It remains defensive until SPY reclaims the moving average.
↔️Choppy market
Periods where SPY oscillates around the 200-day MA can trigger repeated regime flips between TQQQ and defensive assets. The 200-day MA is a slow filter, so short whipsaws are relatively infrequent compared to faster-moving strategies.
Key risk: Leveraged ETF decay erodes value during prolonged sideways periods; UVXY has significant decay as a long-term hold and is only intended for brief hedges.
